The U-shaped core 15KV high frequency transformer is much larger and more powerful than the EE core 10KV high frequency transformer. 

Note: The high-voltage winding of this transformer is wound with a segmented bobbin and encapsulated with epoxy resin on the inner layer, and the low-voltage winding is on the outer layer. Please do not mistake the winding method for the high-voltage winding and the low-voltage winding of this transformer.

Uses: general experiments in Chinese subjects, electronic instruments, negative ion generators, small scientific productions, etc. This circuit produces a stable high-frequency arc when it works, and the temperature is extremely high, which can easily ignite combustibles, so some people call it a plasma lighter (*end note).

The transformer primary has two windings, one main winding and one feedback winding. The secondary output is high voltage.

When the secondary high-voltage output of this transformer is not connected with high-voltage rectifier diodes and capacitors, the output is high-frequency high-voltage. When it breaks down in the air, it will be a light purple arc, without crackling, but the temperature is very high, which can easily ignite paper and plastic, Very thin iron wire (such as the scene where the thin iron wire burns in oxygen during the junior high school chemical test, but not as violently as in oxygen.)

If several high-voltage capacitors and high-voltage rectifiers are connected to the output end to form a voltage doubler circuit, DC high voltage can be generated, and a negative ion generator can be made.

Note : This transformer is also suitable for 12V voltage, but it is necessary to increase the base feedback resistance to about 150Ω~1.5KΩ. The resistance value should be adjusted from large to small, not too small, otherwise it will not be burned by transistors or transformers. Should be too large, too large will affect the output effect or make the triode work in the non-switching state and cause serious heat.
Another: The transformer is designed for 15KV zui high output, and the maximum output limit should not exceed 15KV, which is 1.5 cm arc. Higher output voltage may damage the transformer. If you want to work reliably and continuously for a long time, it is recommended to use insulating wax or epoxy resin to completely seal it. No load is forbidden to work when it is not sealed!
